Finding Opportunity in A Period of Uncertainty
Like many investment companies in the past 5 years, Putnam has made a number of evolving internal changes to reestablish its position in the market place. With increasing external uncertainty and stepwise expectations for the performance of my sales group, I found myself in a defensive and reactive mode. Gary helped me review recent events, shift from a reactive to a proactive model, and consider more effective ways to influence senior management and my direct reports during a very fluid period. With Gary’s help, I successfully positioned myself for an emerging international assignment within Putnam with broader accountabilities that I would not have previously considered. Gary’s coaching was invaluable to me as I managed these multiple transitions.

After the coaching was completed in the US, Joe relocated to Europe and eventually advanced to become the Head of Global Institutional Management for Putnam Investments- institutional, retail and sub-advisory businesses in the US, EMEA and Asia.
